The Third Annual La Unidad Latina Golf Classic will take place on
Saturday, September 8th, 2007 at the University
of Maryland Golf Course in College Park, MD.
The purpose of the Golf Classic is to bring together individuals
for a worthy cause and raise money for local Latino community organizations in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
This year, proceeds raised will
be donated to the National Capital Immigration Coalition; a group of organizations that advocate, educate, and mobilize the immigrant community in the DC metro area toward citizenship and civic participation.
In 2006, $1,000 was raised for the Central American Resource Center of Washington (CARECEN) and Proyecto Salud; two local non-profit organizations that provide services to the Latino community in Washington D.C. and Montgomery County, Maryland.
In 2005, the First La Unidad Latina Golf Classic 2005 raised almost $1,000 that went to CASA of Maryland and the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. Mr. Gustavo Torres, Director of CASA of Maryland, said the 2005 donation was used to support the organization’s mission of “improving the quality of life and social and economic well being of low-income Latinos and their families.”
We hope you will be able to join us on Saturday, September 8th, 2007 for a fun and unforgettable round of ball striking and networking benefiting worthy cause.
Sincerely,
La Unidad Latina,
Gamma Epsilon - Professional Graduate Chapter - Washington D.C.
